Welcome to the BuffyMUD Wiki!
This wiki is dedicated to the multiplayer, all text game, BuffyMUD. As the mechanics and other aspects of the game are either undocumented or inconsistently so, all of the information here should be considered potentially flawed in some way, but the community has pooled some of it's knowledge and experiences here. All members should feel free to correct inconsistent and erroneous data.
News
- One of Buffymud's weaknesses is it can be difficult for new players and even some long term players to understand the game they're playing which is one of the reasons I believe in the wiki. I'd really like to see the wiki almost entirely replace much of the need for the current in game support we have. With the current design, I think it's helpful for people who already know what they're looking for or to supplement mentors in providing their mentorees with information, but I think new people in general don't know what they need to look for. So, in addressing that, I'm going to start making a series of pages to serve as a kind of interactive walkthrough about all the features of the game. We can link existing and future content into it and, if nothing else, it can serve as a kind of table of contents for the whole wiki. --Amatsuka 18:39, January 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Cleared the news and I've been thinking about having a contest for the wordart that you see on every page. Right now it just reads Buffy MUD in red and the Buffy font, but if any of you want to make contributions, I'll put up a vote so we can collectively decide what to use. The rules are that the background should be color f2f2f2 (the background color of each page) and have the label Buffy MUD in it somewhere. Submissions also need to be 250x65 pixels. The wiki uses pngs, but I'd prefer a format that maintains layers if you have some other way of getting it to me just so I can change the background if the page ever changes, but otherwise, pngs will do fine. --Amatsuka 21:45, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

Sections that need consolidated: Rules and policy helpfiles(including summary of rulings in announcements or on forum); Communication helpfiles; Artifacts; Shop and house commands
- Sections on commands, events, jewelry/clothing adjustments, descriptions, nemesis events, and dungeons would be much appreciated as well.
- Improving and correcting any of the old help files, especially the larger and more referenced ones is always helpful though eventually it will be ideal to phase them all out in favour of pages more suited to this format.
- Many pages could use organizational and aesthetic improvement.
- Many helpfiles can be consolidated instead of having information spread amoung several, paragraph length pages.
- Basically all the categories could use descriptions or work on their descriptions
